#6

It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.

This right here is a interesting verse.

Make the Master proud of you by being good citizens. Respect the authorities, whatever their level; they are God’s emissaries for keeping order. It is God’s will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think you’re a danger to society. Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government.

This is the same verse in the message translation. I think this one makes a little more sense to me. I really like: treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Dignity is a great word- worthy of honor and respect. Meeting everyone and showing them dignity is no small task, but definitely something to strive for.   In my classroom at school of people at the gym you never know who needs to feel the goodness of people and of God. The cashiers at the grocery store and the people we rush by in the streets, they are they people we often ignore but we need to remember them with dignity. Our closest friends that we see everyday and take for granted, let the words that we speak, speak good and positive encouragement. Just because God gives us free will- doesn't mean we can be disrespectful or selfish. Ok. That's a lot of rambling.

Thankful List.
