Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:8-9 NIV

Blind love that leads to not only inexpressible joy but also to salvation. That is what our Lord gives. That. Is. Amazing. The joy of the Lord is one of his greatest gifts. I love that it is something that we can relish in here on earth. We don't have to wait. We can experience it now, sometimes we have to look below the surface and look past our daily annoyances to find it but it is there. There is a joy joy joy joy down in my heart. Down in my heart to stay. Find joy. Especially when you lost your phone of keys. Find joy. Even when no one in your class is listening to you. Find joy. When you receive criticism. The joy of the lord is there. Even when you are feeling not good enough to experience it.

This verse makes me think about all the random things that come out of my mouth, and once they leave... I'm standing in awkward shock of myself. Really why did you say that. Did you really try to sound that shallow. What are the things of this life that we are to boast of??? Nothing but the love of Jesus.  I need to remember to be humble and pray that God forgives me for giving in to the temptations of the world. Bragging of money or nice things... SHUT UP MARYCHAR! You need to think of where they are coming from and remember that they are first and you need to treat them like Jesus. No need to talk about money or earthly possessions. As we can see I need to study this verse a lot!

It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.

This right here is a interesting verse.

Make the Master proud of you by being good citizens. Respect the authorities, whatever their level; they are God’s emissaries for keeping order. It is God’s will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think you’re a danger to society. Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government.

This is the same verse in the message translation. I think this one makes a little more sense to me. I really like: treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Dignity is a great word- worthy of honor and respect. Meeting everyone and showing them dignity is no small task, but definitely something to strive for.   In my classroom at school of people at the gym you never know who needs to feel the goodness of people and of God. The cashiers at the grocery store and the people we rush by in the streets, they are they people we often ignore but we need to remember them with dignity. Our closest friends that we see everyday and take for granted, let the words that we speak, speak good and positive encouragement. Just because God gives us free will- doesn't mean we can be disrespectful or selfish. Ok. That's a lot of rambling.
